NOTE:
Remote Option: This position is currently listed as "Hybrid" due to COVID-19 related WFH direction. Once ministry staff are required to return to the office, the resource under this request will be required to work onsite as well.
Rate: No rate range provided by client – as per market rates
Candidate has to provide his/her laptop during Interview/contract duration if needed.

Description

Must Haves

Proven experience engaging the business and IT stakeholders at various levels in a multidisciplinary Agile team

Expert knowledge and hands-on experience in writing detailed user stories

Expert knowledge and hands-on experience creating business process maps/diagrams

Experience working in agile/iterative delivery teams for a digital product

Experience working in accordance with policies and procedures of the Ontario Public Service and working knowledge of the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)

 

 

 

Description

·        Research and document user requirements through comprehensive user research, internal and external stakeholder interviews, and

process mappings. Validate functional and non functional requirements along with data / reporting needs

·        Apply lean skills to map out future business processes with maximum efficiencies aligned long-term product vision

·        Documents business needs, epics, user stories, process maps, CRUD matrix based on facilitated workshops and user research

·        Ensure quality delivery of outcomes following Agile / Digital playbook standards and methodologies, specifically Discovery Phase of a

digital product lifecycle

 

Outcomes

·        Provide support during user research activities and/or interviews

·        Conducts analysis and synthesis of user research

·        Supports the product manager and product owner to refine and groom the product backlog

·        Develops end-to-end “leaned out” future state process maps

·        Identifies KPIs for the service and/or business process

·        Supports jurisdictional scan and conducts solution options analysis

·        Creates user personas, journey maps, or other service design artefacts to document user research findings

·        Report progress on deliverables on a regular basis at stand-ups, and other team meetings as required

·        Ensures traceability of business needs and user stories

·        Proactively raise risks/issues and propose mitigation strategies

·        Analyze and map user needs to current state and future state processes

·        Conducts product walkthroughs / demonstrations at the end of each sprint cycle as required

·        Documents and presents findings and recommendations to project team and management level audiences

 

Knowledge Transfer Requirements

  • Knowledge transfer is expected to occur throughout the duration of the assignment through regular meetings, touchpoints, and working sessions with LRC staff
  • All design, development, artefacts, and source code, including all relevant and complete documents must be transferred to the ministry in the designated repositories provided
  • Dedicated knowledge transfer sessions will be scheduled to ensure completeness of knowledge transfer and all documentation is shared, and allow LRC staff to ask clarification and/or follow up questio

Skills

Experience and Skill Set Requirements

·        Strong familiarity with all phases of Ontario Digital Services Playbook

·        8+ years of experience working in an Agile environment in a multi-disciplinary team

·        5+ years of experience in user research, user interviews, user stories, and journey maps

·        5+ years of experience with lean processes, process improvements and identifying Key Performance Indicators

·        Able to synthesize research and current state analysis and draft future vision / process

·        Experience with Jurisdiction Scan analysis based on user research and user stories

·        Proficiency in communication, able to understand business problems, documenting and presenting findings and prepare summary decks for mid-level management

·        Able to build strong and trusting relationships while liaising effectively with internal and external stakeholders

·        Strong leadership skills to provide advice and guidance on all aspects of user experience and design, assessing user characteristics, needs, goals, and opportunities

·        Creative, innovative, and can think outside the box to visualize solutions that meet business needs.

·        Knowledge and experience with supporting Public Sector Digital First strategies; experience with working with Digital Service standards including formal submissions for assessments as per official digital standards established

·        Creative, analytical approach and strong understanding of interaction design principles, including ability and experience to deliver mock-ups using advanced tools

·        Able to resolve issues in a timely manner, provide options and recommendations.

·        Thrive on feedback and comfortable transforming ideas generated through user research and analysis to create elegant, effective designs for diverse audiences.

·        Understand business metrics and able to translate business goals and objectives into digital experiences.

·        Able to prioritize change requests from clients and guide the team in determining how best to address them
